Save A Tree Project NOW!

This MUST be done by mid-April 2012

Jointly sponsored with the Madison Garden Club

Red Maples/ Acer Rubrum

Good Choice for  Urban areas. Tolerant of both wet and dry soils  as well as pollution.

They are green in the summer  with beautiful foliage in the fall.

45 trees were removed several years ago along Madison's portion of the "Lake Erie Coastal Ohio Trail”.  An effort to restore the roadway beauty is underway by using FREE nursery stock trees that are already 15’ high with 5” caliper trunks. Very soon they will be too large to move or will be destroyed once construction begins for the new school site on Middle Ridge Road.  Tom Hurst Landscaping will dig, transport and plant these heavy trees for $200 each. To date, 33 potential sites between Bennett and Dock Roads have been identified.  We are offering 10 home owners the chance to be the first to have a tree planted on their property.  These first 10 will be at no cost to that home owner.  A yellow ribbon will be tied to these trees to bring attention to this project in hopes that public awareness will bring in donations to plant all the trees.
